You were at a networking event last night and met Alan Mulally, the CEO of Ford Motor Company. So now you can claim that you know the CEO of one of the largest companies in the world. But does he know you? Here’s a test: can you call up Mr. Mulally and have him take your call? Do you have his mobile number or email? Can you text him and will he recognize the number? When you’re prospecting for new business, it doesn’t matter who you know… it’s who knows you. The more people that know you, the easier it will be to find new business.
